Our Parish Communities
Old Cleeve Parish covers an area of over 5000 acres and straddles the boundary of the National Park on its north eastern side. The countryside throughout the Parish is equally varied – from the coastline at Blue Anchor, farmland on the coastal strip, then up through the valleys to the top of the Brendon Hills.
The parish contains the villages of Old Cleeve, Blue Anchor, Washford and Roadwater plus the hamlets of Bilbrook, Golsoncott, Leighland Chapel and Chapel Cleeve.

2023 Washford Survey
In 2023 the Parish Council surveyed the residents in Washford to find out how sustainable it is to live there. A summary of the results is available here.
2012 Community Grant
In 2012 community projects in the parish of Old Cleeve benefited from a £1,000 grant.
The money, from West Somerset Council’s ‘Planning Obligation’ funding, was spent on security improvements at the village’s community hall, cricket equipment for the youngsters of the Roadwater Cricket Club and two solid wood benches at Washford Recreation Ground and Monks Path.
Old Cleeve parish councillor Cliance Godwin said: “It was good to be able to spread the funding between the wards for the benefit of residents of all ages in all the communities“.
WSC lead member for community, Cllr Dave Westcott, said: “Old Cleeve Parish Council was attentive to the needs of people and projects throughout their parish, and it has been really rewarding to help them make these improvements for their communities.”
